Two candles on Shabbat tray.   My sister and I lit pray meditating the Shabbat candles every Friday before sunset honoring YHWH and His Sweet Shabbat is 7th day (Saturday).  Friday sunset to Saturday sunset.  Bless the Name of YHWH thru Yeshua haMashiyach we pray Amein!

Question why two candles?

The key is two candles means ‘zakhor’ or ‘shamor‘ according sweet scripture verses on Tanach/Tanakh:

Exodus 20:8-11 TLV

“Remember (zakhor) Yom Shabbat, to keep it holy. You are to work six days, and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Shabbat to Adonai your God. In it you shall not do any work—not you, nor your son, your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, your cattle, nor the outsider that is within your gates. 11 For in six days Adonai made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Thus Adonai blessed Yom Shabbat, and made it holy.

zakhor (zakar) in H2142:  remember

Deuteronomy 5:12-15 TLV

12 ‘Observe (shamor) Yom Shabbat to keep it holy, as Adonai your God commanded you. 13 Six days you are to labor and do all your work, 14 but the seventh day is a Shabbat to Adonai your God. In it you are not to do any work—not you or your son or your daughter, or your slave or your maid, or your ox, your donkey or any of your livestock or the outsider within your gates, so that your slave and your maid may rest as you do. 15 You must remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and Adonai your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore Adonai your God commanded you to keep Yom Shabbat.

shamor or shamar in H8104:  observe, keep, watch, preserve, guard, to keep,  …

The bottom line is in Brit Chadasha (NT):

Yeshua haMashiyach says If you love Me, you will keep (shamor) My commandments (mitzvoth).

mitzvah means commandment (singular).

mitzvoth or (mitzvot) means commandments (plural).

John 14:15-21 “The Believer’s Helper”

15 “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. 16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper[a] so He may be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him. You know Him, because He abides with you and will be in you. 18 I will not abandon you as orphans;[b] I will come to you. 19 In a little while, the world will no longer behold Me, but you will behold Me. Because I live, you also will live!

20 “In that day, you will know that I am in My Father, you are in Me, and I am in you. 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me. He who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him.”
