Tisha B’Av 2021

Tisha B’Av 2021 is the major remembrance day of communal saddest mourning. First and foremost Tisha B’Av commemorates the destruction of both the first and second temples in Jerusalem (586 B.C.E, and 70 C.E) respectively on the Ninth of Av begins at sundown on July 17, 2021 (new 9 Av, 5781) toward ends on July 18, 2021 at sundown (new 10 Av, 5781). The key is on the same date — the 9th of Av month with different years.

• The First Temple (that Solomon built) was destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylonia, in 586 B.C.E.
• The Second Temple (that returning exiles built and then Herod rebuilt) was destroyed by Titus and the Romans in 70 C.E.
